Who is Alex Dong?
Since November 2021, I have been receiving lessons from Alex Dong. I have traveled with Alex in the East and have seen firsthand how respected a Tai Chi master he is. Alex even has a classic Tai Chi form named after him and his family. He is a 4th generation master in the Dong (Tung) family and is in direct lineage with the legendary master Tung Ying Jie.
Alex began his training at the age of 5 with his father, master Dong Zeng Chen and later with his grandfather master Dong Hu Ling. At the age of 15, he started teaching with his father.
Alex has founded the Alex Dong International Taijiquan Association. Alex’s enthusiasm is infectious and through his teaching he has played a big part in spreading Tai Chi to the world. His teaching is simple and down to earth. His very calm and patient nature guides the participant into the essence of both QiGong and Tai Chi Chuan.
Originally from Hebei province in China, Alex spent much of his childhood and youth in Hawaii. Today, Alex lives in New York. He has been awarded the title of American Pushing Hands Champion and the award for best fighting spirit. He teaches in several places in the USA, Canada, the Far East and Europe, including Denmark.
